Configuring the MacTCP Control Panel
- Open the MacTCP control panel. You will find it by choosing
Control Panels from the Apple menu:
- Once the MacTCP control panel is open, you will see a window
similar to this one.
- The PPP icon should be the only icon highlighted.
If more than one icon is highlighted, click on the other
icon (sometimes LocalTalk), then click on PPP to solve this problem.
- IP Address is not really important at this point,
you will probably see something like 192.0.0.0 or quite possibly
the dynamic IP Address that was assigned to your last
successful connection.
- Click on More.
- If there is a Gateway specified in the box, change Obtain
Address to Manually enter in the 0.0.0.0, and then change it back to Server.
- The IP address is assigned as a Class C, and our DNS servers.
- 206.191.48.2
- 206.191.48.3
- When it is completed, click on OK, and close the Control Panel.
- You should restart the Macintosh immediately thereafter.
- When you've restarted, proceed to configure your PPP dialer:
